Jon Critoph

After over 20 years in the Auto ID industry Jon Critoph has decided to join forces with PDT Ltd and offer his services and skills to the industry. Jon started in the industry after completing his 4 years electronics apprenticeship and HNC. He joined Numeric Arts (part of BPCC) in 1982 they were the sole distributor in the UK for Symbol, Zebra and other companies involved in the manufacture of AutoID equipment. Once Symbol had acquired MSI Data Corporation they came to the UK and other countries in Europe and Jon was invited to join them for his experience in the barcode industry and his product knowledge of scanners, verifiers and Barcodes.

Having worked in senior roles within Symbol Jon decided it was time to get back to the sharp end and work once again with end user customers. Having looked around the market Jon chose PDT Ltd as the company to work for. They are located conveniently in Maidenhead close to the M4, Heathrow and London as well as having easy access to the M40 and M25.

"The company offers so much potential and has a good customer base in a wide variety of industries" Jon says, "They are able to understand the customer's business getting right under the skin and then analyse how it could be improved through business process. There software package for modelling the business process changes is excellent and offer the customer the chance to test out the proposed changes to their business without disrupting their business" he continues.

"I am really excited about the next phase of evolution where we are building a bridge from our software to a suite of software from a business partner to allow the automatic generation of code. This will reduce man months of effort to just a couple of hours."

With Jon's arrival the company also moves into the systems integration market providing a full range of technical services and solutions to a wide variety of customers and industry sectors.

Have I made the right move, just look at the smile I think that gives you a clue!
